The Stockton Boulevard Stay Safe Shelter is a large interim housing village in south Sacramento, providing 175 beds in high-quality BOSS Cubez units for individuals experiencing homelessness. Located on a former abandoned office complex, the site transforms unused land into a safe, fully supported community. Each resident has a private tiny home along with access to meals, showers, bathrooms, laundry, computer stations, and on-site case management. The program offers comprehensive support services including mental health care, medical assistance, job placement help, and pathways to permanent housing. Developed through a partnership between Sacramento County, the City of Sacramento, and the State of California, the project is funded and championed by Governor Newsom as part of the state’s broader effort to expand interim housing. BOSS Cubez plays a central role by providing 155 durable, comfortable modular units that create a dignified environment for residents. The shelter operates under an initial three-year agreement with potential extensions, serving as a critical bridge for people transitioning off the streets and into long-term stability.
“Overall we had an amazing experience working with BOSS, all questions were addressed, and delivery deadline was met to avoid any delays with our project deadline. BOSS provided a relatively seamless process with very detailed direction in regard to assembly of the units. Products are of very high quality and really have provided a great housing solution alternative for our residents.”
— Bernardo Navarrete, City of Baldwin Park
“Our streets have literally become the waiting room for housing, I think this is a real game changer.”
— Elizabeth Funk, Founder of DignityMoves
“The BOSS system has been intelligently and strategically designed so the site assembly was remarkably simple. This led to a great balance between on site construction, organization and manufacturing expertise in this project.”
